Delhi: Encounter breaks out at Connaught Place, 2 injured in police firing

An encounter broke out between a group of criminals and Delhi Police personnel on Wednesday morning in Delhi’s Connaught Place. Delhi Police have arrested the three of four criminals who opened fire at the police while two of them were injured in the exchange of fire.

In a bid to crack down on a racket of chain snatchers Delhi Police chase down a group of criminals. As per the reports, these criminals have been prowling in the heart of Delhi for several weeks.


 

On Wednesday morning, at least 4 robbers opened fire at the police near the Shankar Market area. Police backfired and two of them injured in the retaliation.

Moreover, Police have arrested 3 criminals who have been identified as Salim, Ismail, and Saud. Salim and Ismail have been rushed to a hospital after they suffered injuring during an exchange of fire.

While one of the robbers managed to run away from the spot. As per the media reports, the group of criminals was riding motorbikes when the encounter broke out.
