PM Modi attacks Opposition: Will jawans wait for EC’s permission to kill terrorists?

Lashing out at Opposition party, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said that if the army would take permission from the Election Commission before killing terrorists. Blasting rival parties for questioning Indian Army’s operation in which two terrorists were killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian when polling was underway. PM Modi was speaking at a rally in Kushinagar.

"Today terrorists were killed by our Army in Kashmir. Now some people are worried as to why did Modi kill the terrorists when voting is underway? An armed terrorist is attacking,do my jawans go to the Election Commission to seek permission to kill him? Opposition kya khel bana rakha hai? (What drama is the opposition enacting)”


Addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh’s Kushinagar, Modi added, “Since the time our government was elected in Kashmir, there’s a ‘cleaning operation’ every other day. This is a part of my job.”

PM Modi said it without taking anyone’s name, attacking opposition parties that they were saying that elections were on and the security forces were opening fire at militants, news agency PTI reported.

On Sunday, security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Hindsitapur area of Shopian district in south Kashmir following a tip-off about the presence of terrorists. In the gunfight, two terrorists were killed by the security forces.
