Watch Nusrat Jahan and Mimi Chakraborty dance performance on ‘Ashey Maa Durga’
Durga Puja is one of the auspicious and biggest festivals in West Bengal and the preparation of its celebrations have already started in the state. Ahead of the six-day extravaganza, a theme song of Durga Puja festival is out which featured the two Lok Sabha MPs from West Bengal.
Can you guess who are they? The newly-elected Trinamool Congress MPs Nusrat Jahan Ruhi and Mimi Chakraborty are seen dancing to the theme song of Durga Puja in traditional attire. They shot the song for a TMT bar company and after the release, the song has garnered over 1.5 million views on Facebook.
The duo is quite popular in Bengal film industry and the two have been accompanied by another top actress Subhashree Ganguly.
The trio performed on the song titled ‘Ashey Maa Durga Shey’ which is a part of a campaign for the brand. This year, the Durga festival will commence from October 3 to October 8.

The song has been composed by Tollywood composer Indraadip Das Gupta and it has been sung by a host of artistes from India and Bangladesh, including Rupankar Bagchi and band Dohar among others.
Whereas the dance was choreographed by Baba Yadav also includes Bengal’s traditional Chhau Dance, which is originated in the district of Purulia.
Notably, Nusrat represents Basirhat constituency while Mimi represents from Jadavpur.
