Bihar STET Exam 2019-20: BSEB to conduct re-exam via online mode; check exam dates

The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has released new dates for conducting the re-examination for State Teachers’ Eligibility Test (STET) on Tuesday.

In the wake of COVID-19, the STET re-exam will be held through online mode only.


As per the revised schedule, the Bihar education board will conduct the STET re-exam between September 9 to September 21 in various shifts.

The exams will be held on September 9, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 21.

To conduct the online STET re-exam, the state education board department has roped in the Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation Limited.

A senior BSEB official told Hindustan Times, “The board has scheduled re-exam on nine days in various shifts in a bid to maintain social distancing among such a large number of examinees. Candidates have not been asked to apply or pay fees for re-exam as their candidature is still valid. Applicants will be communicated their exam date, exam centre through admit cards which will be issued on August 25.”

He also added that preparation for conducting the online examination has been completed and district magistrates, district education officers, and aspirants have already been informed about STET re-exam.

This year, there were over 2 lakh aspirants took the STET exam held across 317 exam centres on January 28. However, the examinations were cancelled in May due to the paper leak during the exam. The four-member investigation committee headed by chief vigilance officer Nilkamal decided to cancel the examination.

Reportedly, the STET exam was held after a gap of eight years for the recruitment to the post of higher and higher secondary school teachers.
