When Arti Singh had no guts to talk about her depression phase

Discussion around “depression” and “nepotism” has become a never-ending topic ever since Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on 14th June. As per reports, Dil Bechara actor was battling depression from various reasons which are yet to be revealed. Since then many celebs both from TV and film industry have come out and revealed their struggling days and while others talked about their depression.

Now, Bigg Boss 13’s contestant Arti Singh has also come out and revealed that she felt insecure and ashamed of talking about her depression with people. Well, we all have seen Arti suffering from a panic attack on the show after fighting with Siddharth Shukla. On the show, for the first time, she talked about her battle with depression. Now in conversation with TOI, she revealed as to why she never talked about that she had been a depression patient.

She revealed that she was ashamed of talking about her depression as she feared that people might judge her or even might walk away from his life. Not just this while she was battling depression she used to think that no will marry her after knowing that she is suffering from depression.

 

She continued, “I am no expert in mental health but there have been times when I had everything in life career-wise, but I have been broken inside. People around me didn’t know till the time it started showing on my face. Like whenever I used to go anywhere, I would be quiet and would think ki main toh manhoosiyat phaila rahi hoon.”

She further added that being a depression patient is still a taboo in India, however, she is thankful and blessed to have people around her to whom she can talk her heart out and stood by her like a rock. Before concluding her statement Arti said that though people will listen to you and will be there for you, however, a depression patient has to really pull oneself to get out of the situation. So, in the end, we have to help ourselves.
