Virat Kohli is arguably the best player of white-ball cricket. His records speaks for the man and the kind of cricket he plays. Virat Kohli played an amazing knock to bring up his fifth Indian Premier League century. And with this he is on a verge to break the mighty Chris Gayle’s record.

Chris Gayle has six centuries to his name and now Kohli is second on the list with five centuries. Kohli need just one more century to equal Gayle’s record in the IPL. Gayle would have had seven centuries to his name and would have become 5th batsman to hit a century in IPL 2019 but he remained 99 not-out in a match against his former team Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Australian cricketers David Warner and Shane Watson are behind Kohli in the list of most centuries as they have four centuries to their name.

Virat Kohli has 378 runs to his name from the nine matches he played so far. Kohli stands third after David Warner and KL Rahul in the list of orange cap contenders. Orange cap is for the player who scores most number of runs in the season. Kohli currently holds the record of most number of runs in IPL history with 5,326 runs.

Kohli has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore since the start of the IPL and thus remain the only player to play for a single franchise in the tournament. Kohli came into IPL right after leading India in the 2008 U-19 World Cup and winning it.
