Why is Shahid Kapoor's Rangoon delayed? The actor reveals all

Shahid Kapoor's Rangoon has been postponed from a 30 September, 2016, release slot, making way for MS Dhoni: The Untold Story. Ever since, speculations have been rife about the reason for the delay.

However, actor Shahid Kapoor while interacting with a leading daily revealed that the film has been pushed due to prolonged post-production work. He said,

"Rangoon is mounted on a really high scale. It's a very content-driven film but at the same time, a high budget commercial film as well. Vishal sir is taking more time to work on the film's post-production, which is required. This is why we decided to come up with a release date in February next year."

The film, also starring Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut in the lead, is set against the backdrop of World War II. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, Rangoon is confirmed to hit the big screen on 24 February, 2017.
