For a film to be successful at the Box Office, it needs to tick a number of boxes. While quality content, solid performances and catchy music are the indisputable factors, picking the right budget for the film is also an important factor.

Bollywood has seen a number of films with limited appeal doing phenomenally well at the Box Office - only because they have been budgeted well.

This week's biggest release, Neerja, seems to fit right into this category of strategically budgeted films. The Sonam Kapoor film, a biopic of PanAm heroine, Neerja Bhanot, was made at a budget of Rs 13 crore. An additional Rs 8 crore was put aside for marketing and distribution.

Speaking about the budget, producer Atul Kasbekar said:

"At a cost of Rs 21 crore - inclusive of marketing and distribution - we have been able to make Neerja as we wanted to, without compromising on the treatment of the film and covering all the facts and minute details of the historic event".

"It is good to know that things have turned out pretty well for us till now and all the content put out by us has been well received."

The trailer and songs of Neerja have been well received by the audiences. Considering the modest budget of the film, it is likely that the film will be a huge success at the Box Office. If the early reviews are anything to go by, the film looks to be well on its way to recover the investment from the theatrical revenue alone.

Neerja releases on 19 February 2016.
