Sonakshi Sinha apologizes over her derogatory remark on Valmiki Samaj during an interview

Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha has put herself in controversy after she used a derogatory remark on one caste in her recent interview. After Valmiki Samaj responded on that comment and started protests against her in Uttar Pradesh, she has issued an apology on her social media account.

In her recent official statement, Sonakshi Sinha made a reference to that interview and clarify that enormous regards for the society and their contributions. The actress also told that the usage of that word was actually unintentional but if anybody has hurt, she'd apologise to them.

She wrote on social media, "With reference to an interview i did with Siddharth Kanan on 23rd july, 2019, i place on record that i have tremendous regard and respect for the Valmiki Samaj and all their valuable contributions to our society and country. If any person or community has been hurt by the usage of any word by me, despite it being unintentional and un-derogatory to anyone, i humbly apologise for the same."

For those who doesn't know the matter, let us tell you that the actress in one of promotional interview for Khandaani Shafakhana, said that she doesn't get enough time to prepare for the airport looks. She said, "Yeh thodi hai ki purposely ghar jaake, bhangi banke chalu jaaugi".

 

On the professional front, Sonakshi Sinha starrer Khandaani Shafakhana has failed to impress the audience. However, the actress has changed her focus from Khandaani Shafakhana to her next film Mission Mangal, slated to release on 15th August 2019.
