Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo opened with a bang at the Box-Office as it has raked in Rs 40.35 crore from its Hindi version only.
The film recorded great occupancy throughout the day at all the centres including Mumbai and Delhi which were expected to be on the lower side due to it's genre. The film is seeing record-breaking collections in centres like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Central India, Bihar, Assam, East Punjab and Central Provinces. However, it is a little behind Happy New Year's opening day collections in Mumbai and West Bengal.

The film is the second highest opener of all time after Shah Rukh Khan's Happy New Year which collected Rs 42.62 crore on its opening day last year.
The film has received mix responses from the critics and it is to be seen how the audiences have accepted the film. With today and tomorrow being working days, the collections are bound to witness a drop.
The response to the Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions, however, is on the lower side and the film has collected approximately Rs 2 crore on its opening day.

PRDP is Salman Khan's biggest opener till date going past Ek Tha Tiger which collected around Rs 33 crore on its opening day. The film is mounted on a huge budget of Rs 115 Crores (95 cost + 20 print and publicity) and the film needs to breach past the Rs 200 crore mark for for the producers to break even .
