Riteish Deshmukh: Nishikant Kamat on ventilator support, still fighting

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh recently took to his Twitter handle and quashes the death rumours of director Nishikant Kamat. In his tweet, he wrote that the filmmaker is on a ventilator and is alive. He also asked everyone to pray for his speedy recovery.

Actors’ tweet came soon after social media was exploding with news of Nishikant’s death due to liver disease. As per reports, he suffered from liver cirrhosis in the past which had relapsed and when his condition worsened he was admitted to the hospital in Hyderabad.


 

Earlier, filmmaker Milap Zaveri took to his Twitter to announce the heartbreaking news, however, after learning the Kamat is alive he again took to his Twitter and wrote, “Just spoke to someone who is with Nishikant in the hospital right now. He hasn’t passed away yet. Yes he is v critical and fighting life and death. But he is still alive.”

 

Nishikant Kamat has given some really amazing movies to Bollywood such as Drishyam, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Madaari among others. He made his directorial debut with Marathi film Dombivali Fast in 2005. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Marathi.
