Great Grand Masti had a poor start at the Box Office as the film raked in around Rs 3 crore on its opening day (15 July). The collections of the film took a beating as it was leaked online two weeks before its theatrical release.
While a major chunk of its collections came from the mass centers, Great Grand Masti recorded an occupancy of below 15% at the multiplexes throughout its opening day.
The previous installment of the adult-comedy franchise, Grand Masti, opened to packed houses across India when it released in 2012. The film collected Rs 12.30 crore.
While Great Grand Masti has garnered negative reviews, viewers continued to flock to watch Salman Khan's Sultan, as the film managed to record impressive occupancy even in its second week. The film raked in around Rs 7.25 crore on its second Friday - taking the 10-day total to Rs 237 crore.
The Ali Abbas Zafar-directorial is expected to perform well over the weekend and trade analysts have already declared Sultan to be a blockbuster. The hit sports drama is now looking to settle around the Rs 300 crore-mark at the Box Office.
