Sometimes the success of a film depends on how many times the film has been rejected by the actors. Yes, actually not joking there are many films in Bollywood which actors rejected for certain reasons however they turned out to be a blockbuster hit. Well, something like this happened in 1978 with one of the cult classic film Don starring Amitabh Bachchan, Zeenat Aman, Pran, Helen, Mac Mohan among others.

The film which was helmed by Chandra Barot was rejected by three veteran actors. Not many know that Chandra made this film to help his close friend to pay off the debts, however, when he approached all 3 actors to do this film with hope, they turned down the script. The crime thriller was first offered to Dev Anand, Jeetendra and Dharmendra, however, all three rejected the film.

After getting rejected for 3 times director then approached Amitabh Bachchan for film and as soon as he read ‘Don wali script’ called back then, he gave accepted the offer. What next rest became history as the film went on to become one of the highest-grossing movies back then. Inspiring from this Farhan Akhtar remade the film starring Shah Rukh Khan and after seeing the success of the film he went on to make its sequel in 2006 also starring Priyanka Chopra.
