Dangal: Aamir Khan's wrestling sequences to start on 15 June

Aamir Khan took to twitter the share his first look as a Haryanvi wrestler 'Mahavir Phogat' from the upcoming sports drama, Dangal, which is scheduled to hit the big screen this Christmas.

Known as Mr Perfectionist, Aamir Khan will sport two different looks in Dangal. While one will be of a 55-year-old wrestling coach, another one will see Aamir Khan as a young wrestler who dreams of winning a gold medal for India at the Olympics.

For the older character, Aamir weighed around 95 kg. The actor wrapped up shooting for that particular look in the film by February 2016, following which he went on a complete vegan diet and lost around 25 kg to resemble a young Haryanvi wrestler.

The final schedule of the film starts from 15 June, 2016, and will feature Aamir as a young Mahavir Phogat. The shooting will continue for 15 to 20 days and will mainly comprise the 'akhada sequences', after which it will be a wrap for the Nitesh Tiwari directorial.

The movie is a biopic of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Phogat and the basic premise is about women empowerment. Dangal's story is about how daughters live their father's dream to win a gold medal for India at the Olympics.
