
It was recently reported that Aamir Khan's wrestling drama, Dangal, a biopic of Haryanvi wrestler Mahavir Phogat, will release a week prior to the Christmas weekend i.e. 16 December 2016. However, Aamir Khan refuted the rumours at a press conference in Ludhiana and confirmed that the film will hit the big screen on 23 December 2016.
When questioned on the reports that the film's release has been postponed, Aamir said:
"Those are just rumours and we release on 23 December 2016 as planned initially."

The superstar also revealed that the team is currently working on the trailer and they are yet to decide on the release date of the trailer.
"There is still a lot of time for Dangal to release and we are still cutting the trailer, so I have no idea when will it be launched," said Aamir Khan.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the premise of Dangal is revolves around the issue of women empowerment. The film will mark the return of Aamir Khan on big screen two years after PK.
