Rio Olympics 2016: Dutee Chand books her berth in women's 100 metres

Dutee Chand became the 99th Indian sportsperson to book her berth in the Rio Olympics on 25 June.

Chand, who will represent India in the Women's 100 metres event, met the qualification mark in the 100 metres heat in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

According to a Times of India report, Chand had to clock better than 11.32-seconds to book an Olympic berth. She clocked 11.30-seconds. In the Federation Cup National Athletics meet held in New Delhi in the last week of April, she clocked 11.33-seconds and missed the Olympic quota.

She will now join the likes of OP Jaisha and Lalita Babar in the women track and field event.
