Kanupapa : Telugu dubbed version of Mohanlal's Oppam to release on 3 February

The Telugu dubbed version of Mohanlal's Onam blockbuster, Oppam is slated to be released soon. The film, which marked the 40th collaboration of Mohanlal and director Priyadarshan,was bankrolled by actor's friend Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Oppam is the tale of a visually impaired man who becomes unwittingly entangled in a murder mystery.

Earlier, Dilip Kumar Bolugoti of Overseas Network Entertainment (ONE), who bought the Telugu rights of Oppam had planned to release the dubbed version on 30th December 2016, but later postponed due to the dull phase of year-end period. And now, it has been finalised as he locked the release date of Kanupapa on

"I play a blind man in this thriller. We are happy to release Kanupapa on 3 February. I hope the Telugu audience will make our movie a success as have the audience here", Mohanlal said.

Oppam was the first Malayalam release for Lalettan in 2016 and the film had a grand welcome at the Kerala Box Office. Upon its release, the Mohanlal - Priyadarshan film, has overpowered the opening week collections of Nivin Pauly's Premam.

The thriller has completed 100-theatrical run and emerged as the third all-time highest Malayalam grosser at the Kerala Box Office.

 

With Kanupapa, Mohanlal will be looking for hat-trick of hits at the Telugu Box Office as well. The actor's previous Telugu releases, Janatha Garage and Manyam Puli were super hits at the Tollywood Box Office.
