Union Minister Smriti Irani has attacked the Congress and accused the party of looting the nation during its term and applauded PM Modi for bringing development to the nation.

While addressing the election meeting, the BJP minister said that the saffron party has reiterated its pledge to serve the poor of the country.

Smriti Irani said, “Narendra Modi Ji was born in a poor family. But with your blessings, he became the Pradhan Sevak and initiated several developmental works.”

Without mentioning any politician's name, Irani said that big party leaders go to homes of the poor during elections to gain publicity.

"But Modi Ji knows how women had been suffering from smoke in kitchens. They could not afford an LPG connection. Modi Ji introduced the 'Ujjwala Yojana' and now the poor families have started getting free LPG connections," the Union minister for women and child development said.

She also alleged that Congress only involved in plundering the country for the last 60 years.

During the third phase of the five-phase Jharkhand elections, BJP has fielded Laxman Prasad Singh from the Dhanwar assembly seat on December 12.
