Mumbai: Shocking! 13-year-old boy climbs train roof to click ‘selfies’, holds high voltage wire; signed badly

In a shocking incident, a 13-year-old teenage boy allegedly climbed up a stationary train rooftop to click selfies. The boy touched the high voltage wire and suffered 75 per cent burns. The victim has been identified as Kushal Bheda. The incident allegedly took place at the railway yard situated near the Ram Mandir station (Oshiwara).

The victim, a class IX student had gone to play cricket near the yard, according to his family.


Manish, the father of Kushal, who runs a confectionary store in Malwani, said "Kushal has been signed badly. We hope he recovers.” Kushal lives with his father and younger sister in Malad.

The victim was allegedly accompanied by his four-five friends. Kushal's relatives said he left home around 11 am. "We assumed he would play nearby. There was a group of four to five youngsters with him," said his aunt.

Around 3.15pm, when Manish came home for lunch, he got a call from the cops. "They said my son was critical and asked me to rush to Ram Mandir station. His friends were there but were scared to talk about what had happened," Manish said.

Following the incident, the victim was taken to the Siddharth Hospital in Goregaon and then was shifted to SRV Hospital. The victim was seriously injured so he was a shift to speciality hospital-- KEM Hospital and further to the Kasturba Hospital at Chinchpokli.
