Amit Shah to answer on Delhi violence in parliament after Holi

Speed News Desk | Updated on: 6 March 2020, 17:21 IST

The Lok Sabha will talk through last week’s Delhi violence on 11th March, a day after Holi, with Union Home Minister Amit Shah slated to reply to this discourse.

The opposition had held out for a debate on the issue earlier this week, giving rise to a massive uproar in parliament that led to repeated adjournments and allowing little time to carry out any other business.

The hue and cry culminated to suspension of seven Congress MPs from the lower house for the rest of the ongoing budget session in parliament.

On Wednesday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had stated that the discussion would be pushed to after Holi, a decision that infuriated members, they responded by throwing paper balls at the Speaker.
