With just two more days to go for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2016 results, all eyes are now firmly set on the IIT seats. The top 1.5 lakh candidates will be shortlisted for the JEE Advanced 2016 exam.

The results of the JEE 2016 are expected to be declared on 27 April. Candidates can avail their Paper 1 scores on the same day.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the JEE conducting authority, is yet to declare a particular time for the declaration of results. The CBSE released the official answer keys on 19 April.

Going by last year's trend, the JEE results could be declared in the afternoon.

JEE Mains 2016 score card and rank list will be available on the official website: http://jeemain.nic.in/webinfo/Public/Home.aspx.

The JEE Mains 2016 exam was held on 3 April and the online exam was conducted on 9 April. More than 12 lakh candidates appeared for the exam this year.

JEE Main scores and rank list are used for admission to various undergraduate engineering courses at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded Technical Institutions, institutions funded by several participating State Governments, and several other institutions.

The rank list, prepared by the CBSE, takes into account the JEE Main scores (60 per cent weightage) and Class 12 Board marks (40 per cent weightage)

The JEE Advanced 2016, the gateway for admission to 18 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and ISM Dhanbad, is scheduled to be held on 22 May (both Paper 1 and Paper 2). Registration for the JEE (Advanced) 2016 will commence on 29 April.
