Mumbai University has relaxed its eligibility norms - now any student who has scored less than 45 per cent will be allowed to apply for undergraduate or postgraduate courses.

The decision was taken by academic council of the university on 31 August and will be implemented from the academic session of 2017-18.

Earlier, the minimum percentage criteria for admission was 45 per cent for general and 40 per cent for reserved category.

The same norms will be applicable for degree courses like BMS, BAF, BSc-IT, etc. According to the Vice-Chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh, Mumbai University is the first to have taken this decision.
