Expelled Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dayashankar Singh, was today granted bail in the 'derogatory remarks'case. Singh had made the remarks against BSP supremo Mayawati.
Singh was arrested on 29 July from Bihar's Buxar town. He had been absconding for about 10 days prior to that.
During a press conference, Singh had claimed that Mayawati was giving party tickets based on the amount of money paid to her and that even a prostitute was better than her.
Singh's statement had led to statewide protests and eventually a case was registered against him at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow.
