There was a time when a majority of Hollywood films in India would sink at the Box-Office without a trace. However, things have thankfully changed to a large extent in the last few years. While Fast And Furious 7 became the first Hollywood film to soar past the Rs 100 crore mark at the Indian Box-Office, films like Jurassic World and Avengers also did great business.
And now, Deadpool has started pretty well at the Box-Office. Distributed by Fox Star Studios in India, it got a reasonable release on 811 screens in India (English: 414, Hindi: 344, Tamil and Telugu: 53).
The film has recorded occupancy of about 60 percent in the early morning shows across India. To everyone's surprise, even the dubbed Hindi version has opened to a good response at the mass centres.
As opposed to Deadpool, Sanam Re released on 2000 screens in India and Fitoor opened at 1,200 screens. However, the occupancy in the morning shows for the latter two is not very encouraging. Though the business in the evening and late night shows is bound to grow for all the three releases.
The release size might give Sanam Re and Fitoor an edge over Deadpool on the opening day. But with the kind of feedback and reviews flowing in, there is a huge possibility that Deadpool will take the lead at the Box-Office over the weekend.
