First trailer of Arrival drops, and it looks fantastic. Amy Adams, are you for real?
How five-time Oscar nominee Amy Adams has still not taken the Academy Award home, is truly mind-boggling.
Coming back to the silver screen on 11 November, is the director of Sicario, Denis Villeneuve, and with him comes Amy, Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker looking at home in a sci-fi setting.
Simply put, aliens have 'arrived' and to understand why they have come to earth - and whether or not they are a threat - American military employs an expert linguist. Most alien movies are about gadgets, guns and guys. Arrival is about the interaction between two species who are alien to each other. Refreshing to say the least.
To say that Amy feels and looks appropriate for the role of a linguist who wants to understand and decode a strange language when everyone else seems to be taking cover is a mark of her remarkable histrionics.
