IIT JEE Rankings 2016 out; Dipanshu Jindal, Pratush Maini & Rajesh Bansal emerge as toppers

IIT JEE Rank list 2016 is finally here. Candidates can check their All India Ranks (AIRs) results/ IIT JEE 2016 AIR Ranks here.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) released the IIT JEE Main rank list 2016 on Thursday night.

According to an official statement from MHRD, Deepanshu Jindal has topped the IIT JEE rank list 2016.

AIR 1: Deepanshu Jindal

AIR 2: Pratyush Maini

AIR 3: Rajesh Bansal

AIR 11: Ryali Gayathri (Girl topper)

In the top 1,000 positions, 853 have been secured by boys and 147 by girls. In the next 5000 positions, 4169 have been secured by boys and 831 by girls.

With 12 toppers, CBSE leads the topper list. Six toppers are from Telengana, one from Maharashtra and Andhra each.

A total of 844484 boys and 284149 girls appeared for the exam.

AIR are calculated on the basis of JEE Main scores (60% weightage) and Class 12 scores (40% weightage).

Admissions to BE and B Tech courses in engineering institutions such as NITs, IIITs and GFTIs are made on the basis AIRs.

Meanwhile, in another significant move for admission to the IITs - for which scores in IIT (Advanced) exam is the basis, the first list of allocation of seats for IITs will be released on 1 July, reported PTI.
