Indian opener Rohit Sharma is presently in India’s tour of West Indies. He was not selected for the first Test against the Caribbean side in Antigua and the fans were utterly furious with team selection.

Former India skipper Mohammad Azaruddin has emerged in support of Rohit Sharma. He stated that Rohit Sharma deserves to be in the team. “ If you are picking a player like Rohit in the squad, then i think you should play him in the XI. Because according to me, his record is not at all bad,” he said.

That stats are there to see. He is such a good player and does will in ODIs as well. So he deserves a long run in the Tests. Rohit should have played and if you pick such a big player then you should play him and respect him.”

Another former skipper Sourav Ganguly also suggests that time has come for Rohit Sharma to bat as Test opener for the men in blue.

Meantime, Rohit Sharma who is also know as ‘Hitman’ shared a clip of himself featuring in a television commercial, in what appears to be an action pact Hollywood scene.

After the video was shared on his official Twitter account, it recieved an overwhelming response, with namy fans reckoning that it is Rohit Sharma’s best TV commercial so far.

West Indies succumbed to 318 runs defeat against India in the first Test of the two match series. India will now face the Caribbean side on 30th August in Jamaica.
