Twitterati slams ICC for referring Ben Stokes as ‘greatest cricketer of all time’ over Sachin Tendulkar

The International Cricket Council (ICC) discovered itself involve in social media wrath after twitterati came out to lambaste ICC’s tweet citing Ben Stokes as the greatest cricketer of all time.

The international cricket body captioned one of its tweet from the ICC World Cup 2019, in which they had posted a picture of Sachin endulkar and Ben Stokes with a caption ‘The greatest cricketer of all time along with Sachin Tendulkar’.


This time, the ICC shared the same tweet with a new caption, ‘told you so’ after Ben Stokes displayed a match winning act in the Ashes.

The tweet enticed slamming from all corners. Although fans concured that Ben Stokes deserved all the commendation for his performance in the third Ashes Test, which saw England chase down 358 for a win but they did on agree to ICC’s tweet which rated Stokes higher than Indian cricket icon Sachin tendulkar.

Ben Stokes smashed a match winning unbeaten 135 runs in the second innings to lead the team to series levelling one wicket victory and also claimed four important wickets, Ben Stokes has propelled two places to fasten around the second spot among all rounders for the first time in his career.

He has secured 44 points after the Leeds’ exploits and now stands on 411 points, only 22 points behind Windies skipper Jason Holder and with a fine odds of surpassing him during the in progress Ashes series.

Ben Stokes has also moved forward 13 spots to a career best 13th spot in the batting ranking. His previous best was 19th in October 2017.
