Australian woman cricketer Meg Lanning surpassed Virat Kohli, Hashim Amla to achieve huge milestone

Australian women’s cricketer Meg Lanning on Thursday surpassed Virat Kohli and Hashim Amla to achieve a huge milestone in ODI cricket. Meg Lanning scored her 13th ODI ton during the first ODI match between Australia and West Indies. Lanning took just 76 innings to reach the mark while Hasim Amla who broke the record of Virat Kohli to top the list took 83 innings.

Virat Kohli had taken 86 innings to reach the same milestone. Lanning scored 121 in 145 balls before she was dismissed by Shamillia Connell. Lanning notched up a 225-run partnership with Alyssa Healy who scored 122 off 106 balls. The duo helped Australia put up a target of 109 runs against West Indies.


In reply, West Indies women were bundled out for 130 runs. Australia won the match by 178 runs to take a lead of 1-0 in the three-match series.

The two teams will play the second ODI on September 8 at North Sound and the final will be played on September 11 at the same venue.
