A few days ago, choreographer-turned-director, Ahmed Khan confirmed that he would soon direct Akshay Kumar in a commercial entertainer produced by Firoz Nadiadwala. Khan's comments confirmed that Akshay Kumar and Firoz Nadiadwala had indeed, overcome their previous differences that had led to the Airlift star being dropped from Nadiadwala's Hera Pheri 3 and Welcome Back.

Firoz has reportedly not just signed Akshay Kumar on for a film by Ahmed Khan but is also planning to rope in the actor for the third third instalment of the successful Welcome franchise.

According to our sources, the third installment of Welcome will take the lives of the madcap Welcome bunch, namely Rajiv, Sanjana, Ajay, Ranjhana, Uday, Majnu and Dr Ghunghroo after two eventful marriages. The film is set to be another comedy of errors - in keeping with the trademark Welcome style. The script is currently being worked on.

The movie will mark the return of the well-recieved Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif pairing after Tees Maar Khan.

However, Welcome 3 will not be directed by Anees Bazmee. Our sources reveal that Firoz is in talks with a few directors known for their comedy films - one of them being Neeraj Vora.

We tried contacting the producer but failed to get a response.
