Sonam Kapoor's Neerja had a great opening day at the Box-Office as it raked in around Rs 4.70 crore.

The film had a slow start with around 20 to 25 percent occupancy in the morning shows; however, word of mouth and reviews resulted in a massive jump towards the evening shows.

The Sonam Kapoor film released on merely 700 screens, majorly targeted towards multiplexes in Metros.

The collections will witness an upward biz on Saturday and Sunday and the film could well collect around Rs 20 crore on its opening weekend. The initial word of mouth is very positive and suggests a long run for the film at the Box-Office; however the hold on Monday will give an idea about the trend of film over the weekdays.

The budget of Neerja is Rs 21 crore and the film is set to recover it from the theatrical revenues itself. Neerja released in the Gulf on Thursday and according to early trends, it recorded a better opening than other female-centric films like Jazbaa, Mary Kom, Mardaani and NH 10, to name a few.
