Extremely sad that you've choosen to hide the real truth & the real plight of Kashmiri Hindus If you cant show the reality then don't insult it by commercializing a genocide Shameful and Disgraceful#KashmiriPandits #Muslims #Article370 @rahulpandita
disappointed with myself for having believed @VVCFilms would do justice with our community. Vidhu Chopra pretended all along that Shikara is untold story of pandits, and made people reach theatre to find out more, only to see a love story undermining our genocide #Boycott_Shikara— naveen raina (@nvnraina) February 8, 2020
Let VVC realise the only objective he had was to make money and he couldn't do that even by twisting facts #Boycott_Shikara— sid 🇮🇳 (@Sid18672054) February 8, 2020
Also, there were reports that a woman belonging to the Kashmiri Pandit community broke down after watching Shikara and then lashed out at the director for commercialising the plight of the people. The lady started shouting at Vidhu when he came after the screening to interact with the audience. The video of the same is also going viral on all social media platforms.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra chose money making over facts 🤬
@neelakantha how he said this 👉 "Bahut acha boli , talli bajao, inke liye shikara 2 banayenge" pic.twitter.com/Fun2M1kQgo
Even, BJP’s veteran politician LK Advani was also present at the special screening who was snapped crying after watching the film.
Earlier, Deepika Padukone’s Chapaak falls prey to the boycott trend after he stood in solidarity with the students at Jawaharlal Nehru University. However, the actress stood strong and didn't let such criticism affect her or her skills.
