Raees vs Kaabil: It has become a battle of egos, says Rakesh Roshan

Republic Day 2017 weekend will see the clash of Shah Rukh Khan's Raees with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil.

While media speculations were rife that Rakesh Roshan would make way for the SRK film during the holiday weekend, the director denied the report. In an interview to a leading daily, Roshan revealed that the clash has now resulted in a battle of egos between the individuals.

When the director was asked the reason for the clash, he said,

"It becomes an ego issue and then no one wants to budge."

The director-turned-producer was honest enough to accept that the clash would harm the business prospects of both the films; however, he is confident now that Kaabil has shaped up better than his expectations.

"A clash eats into each other's profits. But the good film does well. Kaabil is the love story of a visually impaired boy and girl. It is set in Mumbai. You'll see director Sanjay Gupta in a new light. He has done better than I had expected."

Kaabil also stars Yami Gautam in a pivotal role.
