Saqib Saleem and Hardy Sandhu join Kabir Khan's 83; look what role they will be playing

Filmmaker Kabir Khan is busy finalising his cast of 83, Ranveer Singh has already been finalised as Kapil Dev, now he has finalised other two major characters of the movie. Bajrangi Bhaijaan director Kabir Khan has finalised actor Saqib Saleem and singer Hardy Sandhu as former cricketers Mohinder Amarnath and Madan Lal, respectively.

Where Mohinder Amarnath, an all-rounder who was the man of the match in 1983’s semi-finals and finals, Madan was responsible for taking significant wickets of Sir Vivian Richards during the final match against West Indies.

Interestingly, both Saqib and Hardy has played this game when they were young, Saqib was played for Delhi cricket team at the state level, while Hardy was part of the under-19 team for Punjab. If it had not been his elbow injury, Hardy would have been still playing cricket.

Also, Hardy Sandhu is making debut in Bollywood with Kabir Khan’s directorial. Previously, he has been part of two Punjabi movies such as Yaaran Da Katchup and Mera Mahi NRI.

Meanwhile, it was announced that Pankaj Tripathi will be playing the role of cricket team’s then manager Man Singh. Filmmaker Kabir Khan also shared a photo of Pankaj with a caption that read, “An actor I’m so excited to work with… He’s going to be our “Man Bhai”- the unsung hero of 1983!”

The cast will start its shooting from May and the film will be shot primarily in London and Scotland. The movie’83 is scheduled to release on April 10, 2020.
