Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan beats Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots to set new TV record

Salman Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan premiered on Star Gold and Star Gold HD on 11 October.

The film has shattered all television rating records by a huge margin. Upon its world television premiere, Bajrani Bhaijaan received a television rating of 15.5. The previous record, of 10.9 TRP was held by the Aamir Khan-starrer 3 Idiots.

The marketing team of Star Gold held a massive promotional campaign for the television premiere of Bajrangi Bhaijaan. And the efforts seem to have paid off.

The satellite rights of Bajrangi Bhaijaan were acquired by the Star Network as a part of their Rs 500 crore deal with Salman Khan.

The film, starring Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Harshaali Malhotra and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, released on 17 July 2015. The Kabir Khan-directorial raked in close to Rs 320 crore at the Indian Box Office and about $28 million overseas.
