Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif's Jagga Jasoos to release in August 2016?

After Barfi, Anurag Basu announced his next film Jagga Jasoos with Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in lead roles and the same generated a lot of hype in the media. Curiosity around the film built up as Basu and Ranbir revealed their plans to make a Jagga Jasoos trilogy since the film is a on the lines of The Adventures of Tintin.

However, the buzz and hype around the film saw a definite fall ever since the release date kept getting pushed forward. Initially slated to release on 28 August 2015, the release date of Jagga Jasoos moved to 27 November 2015. Later on, the makers announced that the film will release on 3 June 2016.

However, the film's release date got pushed yet again as considerable portions of the shoot are yet to be completed. Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif are currently busy shooting for the film in Mumbai following which they will fly to Morocco for a prolonged shooting schedule.

Initially expected to be wrapped up by March, the shooting of Jagga Jasoos will now be complete only by mid-May, following which Basu will sit on the editing table. The makers are now reportedly eyeing end of August 2016 as the release slot. However, there is no official confirmation about the same.

Jagga Jasoos is a musical with as many as 15 songs in the narration. In the film, Ranbir Kapoor's character stammers and can speak properly only when he sings. Major interactions in the Anurag Basu directorial are through the use of songs. The music of Jagga Jasoos has been composed by Pritam.
