STORY

The story of the film revolves around Lakshmikant Chauhan alias Laxmi (Akshay Kumar), who lives in the small village of Uttar Pradesh. Laxmi loves his wife Gayatri (Radhika Apte) a lot and takes of her every happiness. He wants to make Gayatri's life easy to live. When he got to know that Gayatri uses clothes during periods as she can't afford the pads because her husband is a factory worker.

Then Laxmi himself takes the decision of making sanitary pads and soon people start making fun of him seeing his experiments. Now Laxmi not only fights for making women's life easy around him but also he had to fight with society. The society had a bad image of periods and that makes women away from other religious works. Now how Laxmi fights back and how he make India famous around the world is the whole story is about.

DIRECTION

The first half of the film is very strong and R Balki has shown the personality of Laxmi in very humour way, however second half is little bit low. Not necessary romantic angle makes the film slow, even the songs have made film slow. Amitabh Bachchan's cameo in the film is power packed but his speech is so long.

PERFORMANCES

Akshay Kumar fits his character of Laxmi and whoever has followed Arunachal Muruganathan will easily know how Akshay has captured all the expressions of him. Radhika Apte has looked very comfortable with his character it looks like that now she is master of playing this kind of roles.

Sonam Kapoor's supporting role as musician Pari is brilliant and after Neerja she has again done a good work.

MUSIC

The music is comfortable, Amit Trivedi has not gone to high with the music as he knows it that the film needs a slow music. Arijit Singh's song Aaj Se Teri is already a chartbuster.
