Laila Majnu actor Avinash Tiwary and Mrunal Thakur to star in Karan Johar's Ghost Stories on Netflix
Netflix India has recently collaborated with producer Karan Johar for shows and films on their platform. Netflix recently confirmed that after making Lust Stories with filmmakers Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, Karan Johar, and Anurag Kashyap, now they are coming with Ghost Stories. Ghost stories will come with four different stories directed by all four directors.
Recently it was told that Janhvi Kapoor and Vijay Varma will star in Zoya Akhtar's segment in Ghost Stories. Now we have come to know that Karan Johar has also got his leading actors for his segment in Ghost Stories. Avinash Tiwary who made his leading role debut with Imtiaz Ali's Laila Majnu is going to start in Karan Johar directed Ghost Stories.
Also, Mrunal Thakur who has been seen in films like Batla House, Love Sonia, and Super 30 will star alongside Avinash in the same film. While talking about the film Karan Johar said, I have always been mortified to watch the horror genre and have always stayed very far away from any ghost story! So to direct one is not only hugely challenging but also exceptionally exciting! Personally, it’s uncharted terrain and I couldn’t have chosen a better platform and a more eclectic collective to exhibit my fear of ghosts and ghost stories! This one’s going to be a nightmare for this dream team!”
Interestingly, Ghost Stories is the third collaboration of Netflix and RSPV. However, besides Ghost Stories, Karan Johar is preparing for his period drama Takht starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor.
