After 11 years, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai to star together for a magnum opus film like Baahubali

Now, this is really amazing that after a long time two legendary Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are going to work together. According to the latest report of DNA, Amitabh Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan are going to work with director Mani Ratnam for his next Hindi directorial venture.

Mani Ratnam who had worked with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Guru and Raavan has already approached the actress. Reports are even that Aishwarya has signed the project on dotted lines. While he also approached Amitabh Bachchan but he has not said a clear statement to the project yet. In this report, it is also mentioned that the film will be a part of three instalment series, where many South actors will also be seen in the leading roles.

 

DNA qouted a source, “It’s a big-budget historical drama, which is being planned on the lines of the Baahubali franchise. It’s likely to be a bilingual project and star several other big names from the South Indian film industry. Mani approached his muse Aishwarya for the female lead and she signed on the dotted line."

The source also discussed about Amitabh Bachchan's casting and said, "Mani has narrated the script to Amitji. He is taking his time to decide whether he would like to do it. A confirmation from his end is yet to come but he has liked the idea."

It is being told that the film will b actually based on historical novel Ponniyin Selvan written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. The story of five volumes narrates the story of Arulmozhivarman, who was crowned as Rajaraja Chola I during the 10th and 11th century.
