Aditya Roy Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor's Ok Jaanu will be the first big release of 2017

Producer Karan Johar has confirmed the release date of Shaad Ali's OK Jaanu, starring Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The much-anticipated romantic flick is set to release on 13 January, 2017 and will be the first big release of the year.

The romantic film, which is the official remake of Mani Ratnam's classic, Ok Kanmani, went on floors in March 2016, in Mumbai. The film's shooting is expected to wrap up by June end, following which the team will work on the post-production.

OK Jaanu marks the return of Aditya Roy Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor on the big screen after the successful Aashiqui 2. While promoting Fitoor, Aditya Roy Kapoor had revealed that Ok Jaanu is the ideal film for the couple to return on the big screen after Aashiqui 2. He said,

"I saw OK Kanmani and I loved the film. I feel it would be a great project for me and Shraddha to come back together after Aashiqui 2. It will be a new space for us and won't be repetitive."

What is OK Jaanu about?

OK Jaanu is a mature love story about a couple who agree that marriage is not for them and decide to enjoy a live-in relationship instead. Later, career opportunities act as hurdles in their relationship.
