Ukrainian girl who lost arm, her father in Russian attack reveals heartbreaking ordeal

The attack on Ukraine has affected the lives of Ukrainian. Many people lost their family members while many sustained serious injuries in the Russian and Ukraine conflict.

One such painful story of a Ukrainian girl who lost an arm in a Russian attack that also killed her dad has surfaced on all news platforms. 

The youngster, named Sasha, who is now recovering after Russian soldiers gunned her family as they fled a Kyiv suburb, said that she hopes Putin’s troops didn’t mean to hurt her, the mirror reported.

Her father was killed by Russian troops when he and his family racing for cover and hiding in a cellar. Putin’s army opened fire on the car of Sasha’s family. 

The young girl was left injured in the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital a couple of days later by brave volunteers waving a white flag.

Talking about the horrific incident, Sasha said: "I don't know why the Russians shot me. I hope it was an accident and that they didn't mean to hurt me.”

"I was shot in the arm. I ran after my sister. My mum fell over. I thought it was the end. But she was not dead she was just sheltering from the gunfire. She was hiding,” Sasha told.

Sasha further revealed that she lost consciousness and someone carried her to a cellar. 

Due to the serious injury, Surgeon Dr Vladislav Gorbovec was forced to amputate the little girl’s left arm above the elbow to save her life after he discovered gangrene. 

Meanwhile, Sasha is recovering in hospital. Not just Sasha but many other children have suffered from severe injuries and many of them have lost one of their parents. 

A nurse who treated Sasha told that the little girl thanked the medics for saving her life and refused to cry even after experiencing a life-threatening trauma. 

Interestingly, Sasha is the only girl who asked for a pink-colored artificial arm covered with flowers, the nurse revealed.
