On Friday, Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe confirmed that he is planning to visit the United States in April to meet US President Donald Trump to discuss North Korea and other international issues.
This morning Abe in a press conference confirmed that he has a telephonic conversation with Trump, where he has put across that international community need to put maximum pressure on NKorea.
He even welcomed NKorea's recent stance of negotiation, he said, "We welcome the change in North Korea which indicates that Pyongyang was ready to start discussions."
This statement has come after a South Korean official said in Washington that the U.S. president was ready to meet with NKorean leader Kim Jong Un in May.
Telephonic conversation between Abe and Trump lasted for approximately 30 minutes. In this conversation both the leaders agreed to put maximum pressure on the implementation of denuclearization.
Abe even said that the change in North Korean policy was the result of the close cooperation between the US, Japan, and South Korea.
