With the Assembly election 2016 poll results coming in from all five states - West Bengal, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Assam - it is quite clear as to who will become the next Chief Minister of their respective states.
Similar to the 2011 election, the All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) gained an unassailable lead with over 200 seats, leaving the other parties behind. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephonic conversation with Mamata Banerjee and Jayalalitha, congratulating them over their victories. PM also tweeted in this regard.
With this win, Mamata Banerjee will begin her consecutive second term in the state of West Bengal.
Spoken to @MamataOfficial ji & congratulated her on the impressive victory. My best wishes to her as she begins her 2nd term.
