Wimbledon 2015: Can Muguruza spring a surprise on Radwanska?

The second women's singles semi-final between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova might hog the limelight at Wimbledon on 9 July, but the clash between Agnieszka Radwanska and Garbine Muguruza still has a lot to offer.

Radwanska, who lost the 2012 Wimbledon final against Serena Williams, will be counting on her previous experiences at the tournament to come good against her Spanish counterpart in the first semi-final today.

Her opponent, who's ranked 20th in the women's singles, will be appearing in the last four of a Grand Slam for the very first time. The 21-year-old tennis player is also the first Spanish woman to enter the Wimbledon semi-finals since Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario 18 years ago.

Radwanska's opponent: Garbine Muguruza

The Spaniard announced her arrival on the WTA tour with a sensational run at the French Open last year. The 21-year-old player handed the World No. 1 and defending champion Serena Williams her worst-ever Grand Slam loss (6-2, 6-2) in the second round. However, she went on to lose the quarter-final against Maria Sharapova in three tight sets.

Her other famous victory came against Caroline Wozniacki in 2014 where she came back from a set down to beat the Danish player in three sets to enter the fourth round at the Australian Open. Muguruza's campaign at Melbourne Park was cut short by Agnieszka Radwanska following her fourth round loss at the Australian Open. The 20th-seeded player will be looking to set the record straight as she gears up for her semi-final clash at Wimbledon today.

Radwanska's form at Wimbledon 2015:

Quarter-final: Defeated American player Madison Keys 7-6 (7-3), 3-6, 6-3.

4th round: Defeated Serbian player Jelena Jankovic 7-5, 6-4.

3rd round: Defeated Australian player Casey Dellacqua 6-1, 6-4.

2nd round: Defeated Australian player Ajla Tomljanovic 6-0, 6-2.

1st round: Defeated Czech player Lucie Hradecka 6-3, 6-2.

Muguruza's form at Wimbledon 2015:

Quarter-final: Defeated Swiss player Timea Bacsinszky 7-5, 6-3.

4th round: Defeated Danish player Caroline Wozniacki 6-4, 6-4.

3rd round: Defeated German player Angelique Kerber 7-6 (14-12), 1-6, 6-2.

2nd round: Defeated Croatian player Mirjana Lucic-Baroni 6-3, 4-6, 6-2.

1st round: Defeated American player Varvara Lepchenko 6-4, 6-1.
