Porn gig: Pictures of female Facebook users in India being used in online sex chats

More than 40 per cent of female Facebook users in India have been victims of a scam in which unethical Facebook users have copied pictures of girls from their albums, morphed them, and then used them as images for sex chats and pornography, reports Mail Today.

Now a group of ethical hackers is taking on these cyber-criminals to stop this menace.

"This is the biggest online threat we face today," said Kislay Choudhary, an expert on cyber-crime. "Criminals are copying and saving pictures of female users on social media and using them to entice users to connect on sex chats."

The Kerala Cyber Warriors, a 15-member-strong team of ethical hackers, claims that it has taken down more than 70 Facebook pages belonging to these cyber-criminals.

It also claims that it has exposed the real identities of the criminals, as well as their IP addresses, phone numbers and addresses, to shame them. "From December 28, we have hacked over 70 profiles and dozens of pages," a hacker from the Kerala Cyber Warriors said. They began their crusade after the Kerala police arrested 11 people for running an online sex racket.
