The Telugu dubbed version of Mohanlal's Onam blockbuster, Oppam is slated to be released soon. The film, directed by Priyadarshan and written by Govind Vijayan, is bankrolled by Mohanlal's friend Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Oppam is the tale of a visually impaired man who becomes unwittingly entangled in a murder mystery.

"The Telugu version of 'Oppam' has been titled as 'Kanupapa'. The dubbing rights are with Dilip Kumar Bolugoti of Overseas Network Entertainment (ONE). I have played a blind man in this thriller. We are happy to release this entertainer as a Christmas gift in December end. I hope the Telugu audience will make our movie a success as have the audience here," Mohanlal said.

Oppam was the first Malayalam release for Lalettan in 2016 and the film had a grand welcome at the Kerala Box Office. Upon its release, the Mohanlal - Priyadarshan film, has overpowered the opening week collections of Nivin Pauly's Premam. Oppam is all set to complete 100-theatrical days at the Kerala Box Office. The family entertainer is also expected to cross the life-time collections of all-time 2nd Malayalam grosser, Drishyam as well.

With Kanupapa, Mohanlal will be looking for hat-trick of hits at the Telugu Box Office. The actor's previous Telugu releases, Janatha Garage and Manyam Puli were super hits at the Tollywood Box Office.
