Indian badminton players Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa have been named in the Sport's Ministry Target Olympic Podium (TOP) Scheme, which has been started with the objective of supporting some of India's medal prospects from seven disciplines for the Olympic games of 2016 and 2020.

Besides the duo, men's badminton doubles partners Sumeeth Reddy and Manu Atri have also been selected under the scheme.

The players will receive funding from NSDF for hiring their respective coaches and cover some other training-related expenses for Rio Olympics 2016.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) has asked them to start making their training plan in consultation with the chief coach of doubles and list out their requirements.
