Watch Video: Allahabad University's girls blocks BJP chief Amit Shah's convoy; cops pulls their hair and beat them with stick

In one of the most shameful acts of Uttar Pradesh police, two girl students of Allahabad University were dragged and trashed by them after they waved black flags at the convoy of BJP chief Amit Shah who was in the city. The cops later arrested the two women after dragging them from the front of Shah's car.

Reportedly, both the women were dragged and one of them was grabbed allegedly by her hair and were beaten up by a policeman with his baton. The entire incident was filmed by one of the onlookers and was shared on social media. In no time the video went viral on the social media platform that shows the two girl students standing in the middle of the road and blocking the lead vehicle in the BJP president's convoy and then waves black flags.


In the video, a male student too jumps in the middle of the road and can be seen waving a piece of black cloth at the convoy. Soon male policemen rushed in and drag the three students away. In a video, a policeman can be seen hitting one of the women students, Neha Yadav, with his baton. Another police officer grabs the by her hair and pushes her towards the vehicle.

In a video shot from another angle, a senior police officer can be then be seen rushing in to intervene and shouting, "no beatings". As per reports, police said the students - 25-year-old Neha Yadav, 24-year-old Rama Yadav and Kishan Maurya - will be produced before the court today. The three of them are part of Samajwadi Party's student wing, the Samajwadi Chatra Sabha.

"Students were trying to show black flags in a peaceful manner but they were brutally assaulted and abused and there was no lady police. The law was violated. Male officers misbehaved and assaulted ladies," Samajwadi Party leader Richa Singh said.

Police said Neha Yahav is a pursuing her PhD and Rama Yadav is doing her postgraduate studies at Allahabad University.
