Mahabaleshwar Bus Accident: 35 charred to death after bus with 40 university staff falls in deep gorge in Maharashtra's Raigad

Around 35 feared to death after a bus carrying 40 university staff of agriculture slipped off the road and fell into a feep gorge in Raigad district of Maharashtra. The fell into a 500 feet deep valley near Mahabaleshwar in Maharashtra on Saturday.

The bus had started from Dapoli Agriculture University in Raigad district this morning. According to initial reports, the staff members of Dapoli Agriculture University was going for a picnic when the accident took place.


There were 40 workers of Konkan Agricultural University travelling in the bus, as per unconfirmed information.The accident took place 100 km from Mumbai.

As per reports rescue operations are currently underway to pull out survivors from the bus which rolled down the ghat in Poladpur near Mahabaleshwar.

NDRF teams from Pune have rushed to the accident site.
