Watch: HD Deve Gowda, son and grandson gets emotional at event; BJP terms it as ‘drama’

Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) chief HD Deve Gowda on Wednesday broke down in tears at an event while announcing his grandson Prajwal Revanna’s candidature. He said he was hurt by the allegations of dynasty politics against him.

Veteran leader Gowda got emotional over the growing criticism f his family's alleged nepotism in politics with JD(S) fielding both his grandsons Nikil Kumaraswamy and Prajwal Revanna from party bastions of Mandya and Hassan respectively for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

"...so many allegations, from the morning in the media (they talk about) Deve Gowda, Revanna, Kumaraswamy and their sons," Gowda said at an event in Hassan. However, while hitting out at Deve Gowda over getting emotional at a public event, BJP called the episode a "drama".

Gowda continued further and got emotional while announcing his grandson Prajwal Revvana from Hassan. "With your blessings&blessings of Channakeshava God, I've chosen Prajwal Revanna from Hassan," HD Deve Gowda said.
